Nantucket

Nantucket is a small island off the coast of Boston. It is my favorite place to go on vacation. The island is absolutely beautiful. There are hundreds of sand dunes, and lots of different wildlife. I saw seals, whales, and many different birds. I actually swam with a whale last time I visited Nantucket. I was standing on the beach when I saw the whale. My Dad watched as I swam out into the water to swim with it. When I got close the whale it freaked and swam away. It was amazing. Unlike most places you are able to drive on these beaches. Many people bring their car, and just sit on the beach and enjoy the view. There are so many different age groups from old to young. Every night all the people on the island line up to get ice cream by the pier. The line is down the block. If you haven’t visited Nantucket I hope your pockets are deep before you go because they will definitely be empty by the time you leave.

North Carolina

North Carolina is one of the most peaceful and most beautiful places in the United States. I think it’s definitely one of the top ten vacation spots in the United States. The scenery and the wildlife are absolutely spectacular and there are so many things to do in North Carolina that involve these things. You can go white water rafting down the natural rivers. It’s a lot of fun and its very exciting. You could also rent a four-wheeler and go on a ride through the forests.  You could also do things that are more peaceful such as going on hikes up the mountains. You could also tour mines and caves.  After touring them you could go sifting for gold and other jewels. If white water rafting sounds a little to crazy for you, you could float down a peaceful river in a tube. A night you can eat dinner at beautiful restaurants on top of mountains or you can enjoy a bonfire making marshmallows. North Carolina is a delightful place that is definitely worth visiting.   

Miami

If you haven’t been to Miami I highly recommend you go. I think Miami is the best place to go on vacation in the United States. I do think Miami is more for younger people, but if you’re old and like to have fun Miami is the place to be. During the day you can enjoy beautiful South Beach. You could go jetsking, or just lay out on the beach. There are many local restaurants and shops you could also visit. 99% percent of the time the weather is beautiful and hot. However, for the 1% of the days that the weather isn’t nice you could enjoy the hundreds of places to shop. You could also enjoy all that your hotel has to offer. There are thousands of beautiful resorts in Miami. The real Miami comes out when the sun goes down. Miami’s nightlife is like no other place in the United States. There are many clubs and bars, and everyone there is looking for a good time. The music is loud, the lights a crazy, and the men and women are having fun. If you haven’t been to Miami I would add it to your bucket list. 

New York

One of the best vacation spots in America, I would definitely have to say is New York City.  The question is, what isn’t there to do? It is one of the most exciting places I have ever been.  From the Broadway shows, to the architecture, the shopping, skyline, and beaches, I don’t know if I can say which the best part is.  Tourism is one of New York’s most important incomes.  People from all over the world come here to see what I just mentioned.  There are no words to describe how amazing it is.  One of my favorite things would be the northern part of the state.  During the winter there are awesome places to snowboard, along with the summer that has lakes and tons of forests.  My friend has a house in Saratoga Springs and my trip there was one of the best.  It’s on a lake and we did everything from boating to wakeboarding to grilling.  New York is one of the most diverse places in America I would have to say.  It has everything anyone could want.   Depending on the time of year, the possibilities are endless. The city however, is very different from the suburbs.  The city is very fast pace, yet very thrilling.  The food is amazing and can satisfy anyone’s preferences.  My favorite would have to be their pizza; a New York piece of pizza is the best, if you haven’t tried one then you are really missing out! These are just a few reasons why I think New York is one of the best places to visit and if you haven’t gotten the chance to go I would really consider it.

Colorado

Do you like to have fun and exercise while on vacation?! If so the beautiful rocky mountain state of Colorado is the perfect place for you and the family. Almost anything and everything you could want to do is all right here in one of the most beautiful states in the country. In the winter there is everything from skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and tubing to taking a nice cross country walk through the forest enjoying the outdoors. Or even if you’re not an out doors’ kind of person there is tons of shopping, sightseeing or even a nice relaxing day at the spa overlooking the mountains. And you don’t have to worry about the kids having a good time either, there are tons of day cares, ski schools, and even bunny hills if you want to help the youngsters learn how to ski. If you happen to come during the summer which is my favorite time, you’ll get the nice warmer but yet very comfortable weather. There’s even more to do in the summer than there is in the winter. There’s all kinds of activities such as mountain biking, base jumping, white water rafting, hiking, and of course some beautiful summer sightseeing. And you always have the opportunity to go shopping and to the spa anytime. So if you’re looking to have a great family vacation this would defiantly be the spot to go!

Las Vegas

Planning a trip? Do you like gambling, partying and no sleep? Well, then Las Vegas is the place to go! One thing to know about going there, is that you better have money, and lots of it! It sucks you in to gambling, but it is so much fun, you just want to keep trying, win or lose. Everything you would want to do on a vacation is right around the corner in Vegas. During the day there are four roller coasters to enjoy off of the top of the buildings, but if you are scared of heights I wouldn't recommend it, or even a nice lunch on the spinning restaurant that overlooks the city. From shopping at the mall inside of Caesars Palace, to gambling in the casino, to a nice dinner followed by exciting shows being performed throughout the night while you party. It is so much fun, you just can't get around to sleeping, there is just not enough time for it. So if you are looking for a place to get away for a few days with friends who like to have fun, Las Vegas is where to go!

Hawaii

Aloha! Hawaii is the United States best vacation spot without a doubt! There is a countless amount of things you can do there! Hawaii is a chain of islands so you can actually visit multiple different places while still being in Hawaii. As soon as you step off the plane onto this beautiful island you will be greeted with the beautiful scenery and the perfect weather. If you love to be outdoors this is the place for you. During the day you can enjoy activities such as surfing or fishing. Or you could lie out on the beautiful white beaches. If you don't want to be on the beach that's okay! There are many beautiful volcanoes in Hawaii. You could go on a hike up them, or you could even bike down them. You could also visit the pineapple plantations located all over the islands. The food is amazing as well. There is a huge Asian influence on the food. The sushi is to die for! You can't leave Hawaii without learning something about their culture. There are many nights that you could go to the beach and watch traditional dances done by the locals, and even enjoy a pig roast! If you’re willing to spend some money, Hawaii should be your next vacation destination!

Washington DC

The capital of the United States. How could this not be one of the top vacation spots in the United States! There is so much to learn and see in the city. Washington DC has so many historical monuments, museums, and memorials to see. It's great because you can pretty much walk around the entire city! You can see the white house, the capital building, the World War II memorial, the Holocaust museum, and so much more. I think Washington DC is a place everyone should visit before they die. You can go on tours or you can even ride on a double decker bus if you would like. You learn about all this stuff on TV or in books, but actually visiting the city makes it so much clearer. You can see everything first hand and take your own point of view on things. There is so much hands on experience with learning about our country’s history. I think every American should at some time visit this amazing historical place.

New Orleans

The city of New Orleans! Is it French or Spanish or Creole?  The History of its founding is so mysterious, locked behind huge Plantations, Bayou’s and thorough out the “Vieux Carre “renowned as the French Quarter!  “The Crescent City “known for so many attractions is not just Bourbon Street which has notorious nightlife and incredible restaurants. “The Big-Easy” has Tulane, Loyola, UNO, a major port, The Saints, Street Cars it is alive 24/7. The Celebrations of all Celebrations is Carnival- Famous Mardi Gras- or Fat Tuesday. It is the biggest party anyone could ever attend.  Hey “Mister Throw me Some Beads”. You better have some or you haven’t lived. Months of parties, Balls and parades lead up to the final Day-it is a historic day for all the natives and visitors alike. Have you experienced a Huccicane, a po-boy, mufflata, or a beignet? If you haven’t then you must! This is not the city to visit if you’re starting a diet. New Orleans is world famous for its food. The Best Oysters are at Acme-garlic and grilled. New Orleans offers the ambience of cobble stone streets, gas lanterns and jazz rolling from window to window. The variety of architecture is unique from Shot Gun houses to antebellum homes. Friendly New Orleanais always greets you to their beautiful city. Relax, eat, drink and be merry as they would say it. New Orleans has everything from Antiques to ghost tours in the above ground St Louis Cemeteries. However if you’re planning a trip the Jazz and Heritage Festival is the Best, so plan accordingly and have the time of your life!

The Florida Keys!

Paradise! That’s the first word that comes to mind when I think of the Florida Keys. The Florida Keys by far is the United States best vacation destination. With over 1000 islands to visit there is plenty to do. Who doesn’t enjoy beautiful sunsets, warm weather, and oceans as far as the eye can see? The Florida Keys is the perfect place to go to relax and enjoy the company of you friends and family. During the day you can go fishing. You can go out into the ocean to catch saltwater fish and lobsters or you can go into the bay and do some backwater fishing. If fishing isn’t your thing, no worries, there are many other things to do. You can enjoy recreational activities such as parasailing, kayaking, or jetsking. Before or after these activities you could always lay out by the pool and soak up some sun. There are thousands of resorts through out the keys, which offer an endless list of activities to do. Another spectacular thing the Florida Keys has to offer is the opportunity to swim with dolphins. There are several places that allow you to get up close and personal with real life bottlenose dolphins. After, a long day in the sun you’re probably going to want to find a good place to eat. The Florida Keys is filled with outstanding restaurants. Although there are many choices of foods, the Florida Keys are known for their fresh fish. Almost every restaurant has fish on the menu and it is always fresh. If you’re looking for a good time, and a relaxing place, the Florida Keys is your destination.
